Currently Warner Bros. and DC Films are preparing for the arrival of the next DCEU film, namely Black Adam. In addition to introducing Teth-Adam aka Black Adam from Dwayne Johnson, this film will also feature a number of superheroes from the Justice Society. They are Pierce Brosnan’ Doctor Fate, Noah Centineo’ Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell’ Cyclone, and Aldis Hodge ‘Hawkman.
Based on the official synopsis, the film itself will tell the story of an anti-hero who emerges in the modern era after being confined for nearly five thousand years. His perspective on justice ultimately forced the Justice Society of America/JSA to stop and at the same time teach Adam about superhero morals. Because the JSA itself actually has another mission to invite him to join. Where later they will work together to face a much bigger threat than Adam himself.
Dwayne Johnson Reveals His Character Brutality
In an interview with Variety, the former WWE legend has just revealed how Adam views justice in the DC Universe. According to him, Black Adam is a figure who will not hesitate to do something brutal to achieve his goals. Even though his intentions are good, he will not hesitate to kill anyone who gets in his way, be it villains, heroes, or even civilians.
“Superman doesn’t kill because he has a way of life that he respects. [On the other hand] Black adam also has a pretty unique code of ethics as well,” said Johnson. “I’m very happy to explain this, he [Black Adam] would not hesitate to split a person’s body. I mean he would grab their necks and thighs, then cut them open, tearing their bodies.”
Johnson’s portrayal of his character is certainly quite clear and terrifying. Where Adam is one of the DC characters who really like brutality to express his power. This is what actually makes many fans impatient to see Black Adam’s action in the film later. Especially when he’s dealing with JSA superheroes. Will the JSA be able to wake him up or will they see him from a distance for their own safety? The answer will soon be answered when the film Black Adam airs on October 21.
