Who doesn’t know the Scarlet Witch? The character whose real name is Wanda Maximoff is fairly popular among fans. One of the reasons is because actress Elizabeth Olsen has performed her character so well in the MCU. Marvel Studios itself has even confirmed that Scarlet Witch is one of the strongest Avengers in the MCU. That’s what finally made his figure a ‘nightmare’ in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, or Doctor Strange 2, is the 28th MCU film that premiered last May. As we all know, in the film by Sam Raimi, Scarlet Witch becomes a very terrible enemy of Doctor Strange. Where he tries to chase America Chavez to get his power that can open the gates of the multiverse. At the end of the film, Scarlet Witch finally realized her evil deeds and chose to bury herself in Wundagore.
Olsen Wants Scarlet Witch To Get Forgiveness
Recently in an interview with Variety, Olsen said that he really wanted Scarlet Witch to be a ‘good character’ again. After his appearance in Doctor Strange 2, he hopes his character can get penance. It doesn’t stop there, Olsen even feels that his character still exists in the MCU, especially because of the multiverse and variants in other universes.
“Hopefully [currently] Wanda is on the way to some kind of atonement [for sins]. I never thought this character would actually disappear. Especially with the Multiverse that can multiply all of our bodies and also the universe,” said Olsen. “Something Wanda taught me over the years is how many things I can do with one character. That can open up a way to get into character and tell stories in a challenging way, I hope.”
This statement has indirectly revealed that Scarlet Witch has the potential to return in the future of the MCU. If not the main character, maybe Olsen will reprise his role as a variant of Witch. Of course, this was very well received by fans, who really hoped that their favorite character would return. Hopefully in the future he can get a solo film or maybe the WandaVision season 2 series.
