Lately, delaying big screen films seems to have become a fairly common habit both in Indonesia and in Hollywood. Without exception, superhero films currently have their own cinematic universe. Talking about the cinematic universe of superheroes, uniquely Marvel has at least two universes that are currently actively producing various shows. Besides the MCU, there’s also Sony’s Spider-Man Universe from Sony with a number of upcoming films, such as Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web.

Established in 2018, to date SSU itself has released at least three solo films of characters from the Spider-Man comics. Including Venom, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and most recently Morbius. Although the three of them reaped various responses from loyal Marvel fans. but financially, these films are quite successful. That’s why Sony is still excited about developing other Spider-Man spinoffs, despite having to delay them several times. As just happened in the films Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web.
Sony postpones Kraven and Madame Web screenings

Based on the latest report from The Direct, Sony has just announced that it has postponed the two Spider-Man spinoff films that fans have been anticipating. The first is Kraven the Hunter, which was originally set to be released on January 13 next year, to October 6, 2023. Then the second is the Madame Web film, which was originally set to be released on October 6, 2023, to February 16, 2024.

Along with this announcement, Sony has also postponed the schedule of other Marvel films, from June 7, 2024 to July 12, 2024. So far, it has not been revealed which upcoming SSU film will fill the schedule. Not a few fans speculate that the schedule is prepared by Sony for the El Muerto film which they are currently developing.

Sony itself did not explain further why they pushed back the release schedule for Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web. Since the shooting of the two films is currently ongoing, it is not impossible that the reason is because the production process is delayed from the original schedule.
